Display Your Webpage In a Browser
Display Your Webpage In a Browser - Now you will view what you just created in the HTML template.
It doesn't matter that your not online, you can view a web page locally right on your computer - with no internet connection. Actually, if you create a real website you will probably create most of the pages FIRST locally then upload the web pages to a remote server.
Step 1: Open Your Browser
Open your browser, what ever you use is fine whether it's Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Safari, Opera etc....
** If you pursue web design more in depth you will definitely need to understand how the different browsers influence the look and display of your web pages. It can get pretty crazy! For now with our simple examples it will not be a big deal so don't even worry about it.
Step 2: Log into your web page
Type into the URL address bar:
C:\my_web\index.html
**If we were visiting a website online, we would type something like : http://www.some website-out-there-blah-blah.com.
***However, remember, the examples YOU write are saved and accessed via your C:\my_web folder.
The clickable examples in the website here are not what you created - just what your pages should look like.
Click the green GO button (if you have IE) and you should see some thing like this :
If you are not seeing something that looks like this above - Go back and make sure you followed the steps EXACTLY as outlined.
